In this study, the author describes his experiences gained over the course of his university career.
The first part is dedicated to the history of Italian Breweries. The main core of this study is dedicated to the historical aspects of Italian academic research into beer and its relationship with the Brewing Industries. The importance of the Italian research is also compared with the European situation and, furthermore, emphasises the teaching within Italian universities, on the subject of beer.
Lastly, some suggestions have been recommended to further improve the quality of centres and laboratories that are currently active in Italy.
